DESIGNERS BASED OUTSIDE OF AUSTIN

Austin Fashion Week has been proud to host designers like Wren (Los Angeles), Rory Beca (Los Angeles), Colunga (London), Corey Lynn Calter (Los Angeles), James Tudor (London), League of Rebels (Dallas) and dozens more.

The Driskill Runways are the premiere runway shows during Austin Fashion Week. It is your chance to get in front of large-scale and boutique retail buyers and VIPs from Austin and the region and to receive massive amounts of regional press coverage. The runways are designed and constructed by a production team with decades of experience managing runway shows in New York for the likes of Giorgio Armani and John Varvatos. Your collections are in good hands. Professional models are provided by Wilhelmina.

Not to be outdone, jewelry and accessories designers have access to the Driskill Marketplace during the Driskill Runway shows. Those buyers will be viewing your collections as well in an intimate environment.

The application process to be considered for either the Driskill Runways or the Driskill Marketplace is as follows (please read carefully):

  • All designers (clothing, jewelry, accessories) may apply here. There are no fees to apply.
  • On receiving your application, it will be reviewed by the Austin Fashion Week Advisory Board. The five members of the Board will provide a recommendation of “Yes,” “No” or “Maybe.” “Yes” recommendations will be granted a spot in the shows, No recommendations will not. “Maybe” recommendations will waitlist you and might ask you for more information, including a sample of your work.
  • Applications are reviewed on a first-come, first-served basis, so get your applications in sooner rather than later.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

  • You must be a designer based outside of Austin, Texas.
  • You must submit a COMPLETE application. Incomplete applications will be discarded.
  • You must be able to pay associated fees (outlined below) should your application be accepted.
  • You must be able to travel to Austin for your show with your collection at your own expense. We will assist you with making travel reservations, but expenses will be covered by you.
  • You must be flexible on which day your collection is shown. You may request a date, but there are no guarantees that we will be able to honor your request though we try. Dates are August 15, 16 and 17.

FEES:

  • Designers chosen for a complete Runway show will incur a fee of $1500. Your fee includes the following:
    • A complete set of models based on your requests provided by Wilhelmina.
    • A complete set of hi-resolution images sent to you after the event for your own promotional use (usage restrictions will apply)
    • An unedited video capture of your runway show sent to you after the event for your own promotional use (usage restrictions will apply)
    • A full professional hair & makeup team
    • A full professional crew to assist you with production — from backstage dressers and runners to music
  • Designers chosen for a Driskill Marketplace spot will incur a fee of $400. Your fee includes the following:
    • ONE model chosen by Austin Fashion Week to help execute any looks in your booth setting.
    • A complete set of hi-resolution images sent to you after the event for your own promotional use (usage restrictions will apply)
    • Professional hair and makeup for your model
    • Basic rental needs for your booth setup (1 or 2 tables, linens, chairs). Other rentals may be ordered for you at your expense should you need them.
