I also participated in and won "The Ultimate Faceoff," a makeup artist competition that was held during Austin Fashion Week 2009, produced by Jen Shoemaker. I am lead makeup artist for Wellman Image Photography/My Pin-Up. I also was chosen by Heather Banks of Eclectic Images Photography (one of Austin's premier wedding photographers) to be her makeup artist for her own wedding held in Playa Del Carmen, Mexico. Clients: Some of the clients I have worked with include but are not limited to: Dr. Laura Schlessinger, Harry Lennix, Lance Morgan, Austin Fashion Week, Something More, Ciarlabride, The Westin Domain Bridal Runway Show, Neiman Marcus Ballet Austin Fete runway show with Carolina Herrera, Clink Events, Red Velvet Events, In and Out Events, many central Texas brides as well as out of state and many aspiring actors and models. I have been published in Austin Metro Woman magazine, Rare Magazine, Style Me Pretty.com, The Knot.com, among others.

I am a true artist at heart. I love being creative and artistic, no matter what medium or subject. I was always the makeup girl in high school, and I still am the makeup queen. I started my makeup career at Saks Fifth Avenue at the Bobbi Brown counter in 2002. I worked there selling makeup and applying it when possible. In 2005, I left the Bobbi Brown counter as a full-time employee, and I started freelancing for Bobbi Brown. In 2005, I also developed and started my own business as a makeup artist (Your Looks N Locks by Mandy Hernandez) doing makeup for photographers, parties, classes, weddings, proms, commercials – pretty much anything you can do makeup for. In 2006, I began freelancing for Chanel as well. I am currently still freelancing for Bobbi Brown and still doing my own business as a makeup artist. Creating that perfect, flawless finish is my passion! I am a sucker for eyeliner and mascara and LOVE a pink rosy cheek! I also have been participating in Austin Fashion Week since its launch in 2009.
