That a piece from the line of Kanye West is featured in an editorial for Harper’s Bazaar Australia leaves us a bit bemused. To begin with, the rapper-turned-designer’s collection was quite universally considered a critical failure when it debuted at Paris Fashion Week last fall. (What’s more, we’ve recently learned that a pair of his shoes from his collaboration with Giuseppe Zanotti have been marked down to $6,000 at hot Paris boutique, Colette.)
Then there’s the fact that Kanye’s threads are being worn by none other than Taylor Swift, who apparently has chosen to bury the hatchet with the man who very publicly humiliated her at the 2009 MTV VMA’s by intruding upon her acceptance speech in an outburst of proclaiming Beyonce Knowles’ superiority. In the shoot, Ms. Swift wears a Kanye top with a gorgeous Masion Martin Margiela wrap.
The shoot, as many are pointing out, was styled by Christine Centenera, the HB Australia fashion editor who consulted with Kanye on his Spring 2012 collection.
